A Bow Moment at NYFW
A glimpse inside an evening at New York Fashion Week

There’s something about New York during Fashion Week that makes the city feel electric. Everyone is glammed up, whether it’s on the street, at restaurants, or, of course, at the shows. If you love people-watching, this is the week to do it, even if you don’t step inside a single show. It surrounds you in a fashionable hug.
The city was vibing as I walked into the historic Gotham Hall. Chandeliers glowed, cameras flashed, the crowd buzzed, and suddenly it felt like I was part of the spectacle. Unapologetically New York, and honestly fabulous, as Carrie would put it.

From there, the night unfolded the way only this city can: a cocktail in hand, conversations in packed bars, a yellow cab waiting outside, and finally the anticipation of the show itself. I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story - the bows and boots, the rides and late-night toasts, the feeling of being swept into the current of Fashion Week in the city I call home.

For me, though, the best part was getting dressed. This bow-covered dress has lived in my closet for seven years - originally bought with a vision of styling it in Japan with high-top sneakers. When I got the ticket to NYFW, I knew I wanted to “shop my closet” rather than buy something new.
I considered a few options (including a favorite polka-dot set ), but once I remembered this dress, the choice was obvious. I leaned fully into the bow theme with Simone Rocha’s earrings, and finished the look with tall boots and a structured clutch.
As I was styling the outfit, I pulled 3–4 contenders in each category (bags and boots), just to see the possibilities:
Boots
There were some strong options: Toteme’s sleek satin, Dries Van Noten’s sculptural snake-effect leather, and Acne’s zippered style that added a subtle edge. In the end, I went with the pair that let the dress take center stage while still feeling modern and sharp.

Bags
For the bag, I wanted something minimal but with personality. The Jacquemus Salon clutch struck the right note - streamlined with just enough detail to feel special. I’d been eyeing it for a while, and NYFW felt like the perfect reason to finally make it mine.

For me, Fashion Week was about more than the shows - it was about taking part in something so synonymous with New York, seeing the city in a new way, and flexing my own creativity in an outfit that got more compliments than I expected:) Subscribe if you’d like to follow along for more.
